We Urgently Need Your Help

We’ve mentored 133 Black youth, we can’t stop now!

Youth asked, parents asked. We delivered.
The Cultural Mentorship Program was created out of need. Black youth in our communities told us they wanted inclusive, safe spaces to connect and share lived experiences with the support of positive mentors.

“I liked that my daughter had positive role models from the Black community and was able to talk about things like food, hair care and Black history with others who understand our unique experiences. There was a good balance of fun and education. The Black community is relatively small where we reside, so these opportunities are important.”

Through generous funding from the Ontario Government, Big Brothers Big Sisters was able to develop our Cultural Mentorship Program. The program has been incredibly successful in connecting Black youth with their history, culture and mentors.

We’ve now piloted this program in 5 of 12 communities that we serve. More youth are waiting. Donations are needed right now to expand this program. Please help us raise $60,000 to initiate programming in Hamilton.
