2020 Golf Tournament Update

BBBS hoped to tee off in support of our young people this September; however, for the safety of our participants, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s physical tournament. In lieu of our event, we will be hosting an online auction from September 14-20, 2020. We are asking previous golfers, supporters and partners to get involved in a different way this year.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS DURING THE PANDEMIC

Our kids need us now more than ever. As the COVID-19 pandemic has further isolated vulnerable youth, our charity has acted. During these challenging times, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) has been working hard to ensure that the immediate social and mental health needs of vulnerable young people in our communities continue to be addressed.

As a response to the pandemic, our charity introduced PAL, a virtual mentoring program, which has allowed us to provide young people with a caring mentor and friend, especially when needed most. PAL has allowed BBBS to make new matches and monitor existing friendships, albeit remotely. So far, 80 new Big and Little matches have been made during the pandemic.

1.DONATIONS FROM GOLFERS – Support the PAL Program through a monetary donation. The PAL Program helps to ensure that the immediate social and mental health needs of young people in our communities continue to be addressed through virtual mentoring. 2. IN-KIND DONATIONS – Donate an item to our Golf for Kids Sake Online Auction (Sept. 14-20). Full proceeds of the Online Auction will help to support the PAL Program, which continues to offer virtual mentoring to vulnerable young people during these challenging times.
